Overview

Working alongside Tarte Cosmetics' in-house design team, I produced conversion-focused assets for high-traffic campaigns across five platforms, reaching over 4.4M email subscribers and 5M+ views per platform.

Working from marketing briefs through final approvals, I contributed to production-ready designs used in high-traffic campaigns including Prime Day and Holiday promotions, gaining hands-on experience designing at scale while collaborating closely with senior designers in a fast-paced, real-world beauty brand environment.

Objectives

Tarte's digital ecosystem runs on a constant cycle of campaign launches, platform-specific assets, and brand consistency across several different environments. The goal throughout my role was to produce on-brand, conversion-ready assets with each platform demanding different dimensions, tone, and hierarchy.

  • Design conversion-focused assets for high-visibility retail moments including Prime Day and holiday campaigns

  • Adapt brand identity across 5 platforms while meeting platform-specific technical constraints

  • Move from brief to production-ready delivery within active review cycles

  • Integrate AI-assisted workflows (Adobe Firefly) to accelerate concepting without sacrificing design quality.

Process

Research + Insights
  • Reviewed brand guidelines, marketing briefs and platform specs to understand campaign goals before any design work began

  • Studied each platform's unique creative constraints: Amazon's content rules, TikTok Shop's scroll-first behavior, QVC's emphasis on product clarity

  • Collaborated with senior designers to understand how Tarte's brand system adapts vs. stays consistent across channels

Ideation

For the holiday email campaign, I explored multiple animation approaches and background treatments before arriving at the final direction. AI-assisted concepting via Adobe Firefly was used to rapidly prototype stocking-themed visuals.

For PDP assets, the approach varied by asset type. Some followed established brand templates that required resizing and optimization for platform specs, while others were built from the ground up following specific marketing briefs, with art-directed imagery and messaging tailored to the campaign's unique goal.

Design Development

Each asset type required different production logic:

  • PDP graphics needed clean product isolation and consistent sizing

  • Email assets balanced motion with legibility

  • TikTok Shop and QVC assets prioritized clarity over complexity to match audience behavior.

The Solution

The final deliverables spanned five platforms and four asset categories:

  • Amazon PDP graphics and Prime Day assets designed to convert within a highly competitive retail environment

  • TikTok Shop and QVC visuals prioritizing product clarity and scroll-stopping hierarchy

  • Web and e-commerce content including Shape Tape Before & After graphics and PDPs for Tarte.com

  • Email assets ranging from the animated holiday stocking campaign to prepared layouts for ongoing sends.

Outcomes + Metrics

  • 4.42M subscribers reached via email campaign

  • 1.5M opens in 72 hours

  • 5M+ views per platform

  • Assets live across Tarte.com, Amazon, TikTok Shop & QVC

Key Takeaways

  • Designing at scale means every decision from sizing, hierarchy, color…it must account for how different audiences consume content on each platform

  • Real creative success comes from clear brief communication, understanding intent before designing saves more time than any shortcut

  • AI tools like Firefly accelerate concepting, but the design judgment behind the prompt is the actual skill
